Frequently asked questions

Answers about sources, setup, Free and Pro, supported devices and support.

Does NextGen include channels or films?

No. NextGen provides no channels, films, series, playlists, credentials, subscriptions or provider access. Use only sources you are authorised to access. NextGen does not recommend providers.

How do I add my playlist?

Use a remote M3U/M3U8 URL or an Xtream base URL, username and password. Follow the M3U guide or Xtream guide. Keep connection details private.

What is included in Free?

One playlist, full browsing and search, five favourites, individual Hide actions and one persistent two-hour cumulative playback evaluation. The evaluation covers playback across Live TV, films and series. Reopening the player or app does not reset it.

What does Pro unlock?

Unlimited playback, multiple playlists and profiles, unlimited favourites, optional iCloud sync of supported state and batch Hidden Content management. Pro never includes content or provider access. Current prices and purchase terms appear in the App Store purchase sheet.

Compare the full Free & Pro feature list. For an existing purchase, see purchase support.

Can I share Pro with my family?

All NextGen Pro plans include Apple Family Sharing for you and up to five other members of your Family Sharing group. Each person uses their own Apple Account. This is a limit of six people in the family group, not six devices.

Set up Apple Family Sharing and enable purchase or subscription sharing as applicable. Family Sharing is separate from profiles inside NextGen and does not provide media, provider credentials or additional source connections. Your source's access and connection limits still apply.

For your own existing purchase, use Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account used to purchase Pro. See Free & Pro and Apple's Family Sharing guidance.

Why is programme information missing?

EPG comes from your provider or a custom XMLTV source. Not every channel necessarily matches. Check that guide fetching is enabled and that your source supplies suitable guide data. Playlist browsing may still work when guide fetching fails. Follow the EPG and XMLTV guide for setup and missing-schedule checks.

Which devices can I use?

See the platform details for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, and Mac. Check the App Store listing for current compatibility requirements.

How do I get help safely?

Visit Support. Share your device, OS version, app version and a description of the problem. Never post passwords, access tokens, complete playlist URLs or unredacted connection screens.
