Android testing support
Apple and Android versions differ. Android testing version 1.0.2 (build 3) has local profiles and library state. Billing-enabled Android test versions use Google Play and RevenueCat for purchases, restoration and Pro access, including purchase and paywall processing. Android has no cloud sync or Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics uploads. Apple iCloud, App Store and Firebase consent instructions below apply only to Apple devices. See the separate Android privacy section and Android terms.
On billing-enabled Android test versions, use Restore Purchases in the app for an existing Google Play purchase. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play; removing the app does not cancel them. Refunds follow Google's applicable process and mandatory consumer rights. Older testing versions may not support billing.
For Android data removal, use supported in-app deletion controls or Android Settings to clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Clearing storage removes saved connections and personal state; clearing cache alone does not. Manage notification permission in Android Settings. See Android privacy details and Android terms.
For a testing issue, include your Android version, app version, device model and reproduction steps. Never send provider credentials or source URLs.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I get channels or a playlist?
NextGen is a standalone player and does not supply, sell, promote or recommend any content or IPTV provider. Add only a source you obtained lawfully and are authorised to use.
Why will my playlist not import?
- Confirm the M3U URL or Xtream-compatible connection is current.
- Check the device's internet or local-network permission.
- Check whether a VPN, firewall, ISP rule, rate limit or concurrent-connection limit is interfering.
- Try the app's refresh or reimport action.
We can investigate an app failure, but we cannot validate a provider account. Redact all credentials from any diagnostic information you send.
Why does playback buffer or stop?
Playback depends on your source, format, provider limits and network. Token expiry, codec/DRM support, geographic restrictions, source downtime and bandwidth can all affect playback. If multiple lawful sources fail consistently, send us the device, OS, app version, playback-engine setting and reproducible steps—without credentials or URLs.
Why is EPG or metadata missing?
EPG usually comes from your provider or custom XMLTV source and may not match every channel. Ratings and selected metadata can come from OMDb. Refresh the guide, check the configured EPG source, and report an app matching problem without exposing the source URL. Follow the EPG and XMLTV setup guide for detailed checks.
How do I manage or restore Pro on Apple devices?
Use Restore Purchases in the app for an existing App Store purchase. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Apple handles billing and refund requests. Pro unlocks app features only and never includes media.
What does Sync with iCloud store on Apple devices?
When an eligible Pro user enables it, the app syncs supported profiles, playlist connection definitions and personal state such as favourites, hidden items, custom names, watched state, playback progress, reminders and ordering. Connection fields use CloudKit encrypted fields in your private Apple Account database.
Provider catalogues, EPG data, artwork/metadata caches and media files are not synced. Turning sync off stops future transfers on that device but does not delete existing local or iCloud data.
Can I turn analytics and crash reports off on Apple devices?
Yes. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are off until you opt in, and you can revoke that choice in Settings. Revocation stops future collection, resets local Analytics state and removes unsent crash reports. It cannot recall data already transmitted.
How do I delete my data?
- Delete playlists, profiles and supported personal state using the app's controls. Remove locally saved media using your installed version's controls where available.
- Remove the app to remove its remaining local app container, subject to Apple device backups. On Android, use the Android data-removal steps above.
- If iCloud sync was used, do not assume that turning sync off or uninstalling deletes CloudKit records. Use supported in-app deletion controls while sync is available and review your Apple Account/iCloud controls.
- Email us for privacy guidance or a request concerning data we control.
Private CloudKit records are tied to your Apple Account and are not visible to us through the developer console, which can limit what we can delete on your behalf. Read the retention and deletion section for details.
Reporting a bug
Please include:
- device model, OS version, app version and build;
- the screen and action where the problem occurs;
- clear reproduction steps and what you expected;
- whether it occurs on Wi-Fi, Ethernet or cellular; and
