Add an M3U playlist

Before you start

You need NextGen, a network connection and a remote playlist URL from a source you are authorised to access. NextGen does not supply playlists or credentials. Free supports one saved playlist; multiple playlists require Pro.

This guide covers URL-based setup. Keep the full URL private: it may contain a username, password or access token. Prefer HTTPS when your source supports it.

Add your source

1. Open playlist setup and choose M3U/M3U8 URL.
2. Enter a playlist name that helps you recognise it.
3. Enter your remote M3U or M3U8 URL in the playlist URL field.
4. Choose whether to fetch EPG programme-guide data.
5. If needed, enter your optional custom EPG/XMLTV URL.
6. Add the playlist and wait for import to complete.

An illustrative URL is https://source.example/playlist.m3u. It is a non-working placeholder; use your own lawful source in the app.

What happens next

After a successful import, browse and search the items your source supplies. Guide data may be missing even when playlist import succeeds. Matching depends on the identifiers and names in your source and XMLTV data.

If import fails

Check privately that the entire URL was copied without extra spaces, that the network is available and that your source is accessible. Do not post the URL in community channels or send it to support.
